Suzy Chaffee, an olympic skier of the 60’s, the inventor of freestyle skiing; which combines skiing and ballet, and the first woman to join the US Olympic Committees board of directors has inspired a girl power attitude and sporty aesthetic in my final collection. It is designed for the loyal denim customer who is always on the look out for newness in classic denim styles.
The collection explores snowy textures which are reinterpreted in denim and frayed slashed strips which are appliqued in different directions as ski track patterns in the snow. It also features wrap-around underlayers, inspired by ballet wear and A line hems and sleeves, initially inspired by A frame ski chalets. The ultimate outcome is a fun, denim, sporty collection with a variety of textures.
