Learning my ABC’S AND XYZ’S is an A/W 23 collection inspired by the effects of my brother being wheelchair bound and having locked in syndrome. The collection is inspired by the issues with dressing my brother due to being in a wheelchair and the effects of locked in syndrome influencing silhouette, texture, fabric, and colour.
Details, key garments, and fabrics are inspired by functional aspects in utility and army wear to create a collection that is aesthetic but also accessible and functional for wheelchair users.
Disabled and especially wheelchair users are one of the most forgot about customers when it comes to designing and making a collection, garments should be made to fit all bodies and to include everyone not just the ideal body.
