Twist in tradition
A S/S womenswear collection inspired by the Cypriot traditional embroideries and my grandmother’s handmade crochets. I wanted to celebrate my final year of studies, by dedicating this final project to my family, and embrace my home town Cyprus.
Tradition is the foundation of our civilization. What makes each country unique. I am very proud to be Greek/Cypriot and this is my way of celebrating my home.
Laser cut is a contemporary way to recreate some of my grandmother’s favourite embroideries but also include my own signature style. All of my laser cut artworks are inspired by the most unique Cypriot traditional embroideries, including “Lefkaritika”.
