Motivated by the admiration of older generation, this Spring / Summer 17 Menswear collection is driven by the inspiration from family history and diverse career paths relating to sportswear and utilitarian wear. Enhanced from military silhouettes with a sporty construction through pattern cutting, sportswear coming from Grandad Ted who was a professional footballer and Military coming from Grandad Bill who was a pilot in the RAF .
The collection is created to style up and style down, encouraging easy layering with muted colours and wardrobe staples, drawing inspiration directly from the old distressed photographs of both grandads off duty and at work. The colour pallete is tonal representing the old exposure of to the photographs combine with the crinkled distressed look which runs throughout the fabrication used which in some areas of the garment have been treated with the Japanese technique Shibori.
Focusing on minimal detail and textural inserts without overpowering the eye, pipping has been inserted in areas of the seams and used in quilting techniques to enrich the garments style lines. Designed for daily living, classic items that can be timeless and achieve to make a men feel confident with his interest in contemporary fashion.
