Referencing the work of contemporary artist Anish Kapoor in his experimental instillations of cement printing, intention and chance are juxtaposed in the fabrication of disjointed silhouettes. Inspired by the textural composition and fluidity of his work, garments have been thrown together and smocked with careful resolve to capture the sculptural behaviours of particle movement within pattern moulage. A three dimensional approach to design work has facilitated a thorough engagement with texture and composition to produce unexpected
silhouettes which capture an instillational aesthetic. The eerie absence of colour combined with the delicacy of distressed surface design proves complimentary in exposing detail amongst distorted shapes.
