DIHONIA

This year I would like to use it as a source of inspiration from my heritage. More specifically my Greek and Indian culture. I always avoided to mention on any occasion because I thought it was something I had not been talking about it. I was young, and I felt kind of in the middle of everything the feeling of dhihonia. So, my key word for this collection is DIHONIA means clash. I never felt I am Greek enough or Indian enough since I was born in Greece, but I did not look like a Greek, and same with the religion my parents happen to be from deferent religion so again I had the freedom to choose but sometimes I wished I did not have to. As a designer I am more than confident, so I wanted to bring this fusion together ang use it as a starting point as my concept. So, I was keen to bring together these historical garments' sari and hitona and move around it. I used medusa as metaphor for the double nature like her human and snake. Besides that, her story is powerful and personal to me so I felt happy and moved by having her as my muse.
