Roro Jonggrang

This collection of spring/summer 2021 is inspired by the legend of the Prambanan temple in Indonesia titled ‘Roro Jonggrang'. The story about the struggle of princess Roro Jonggrang in rejecting the proposal of the evil prince by asking a thousand temples in one night. Each important plot of the story inspired the collection.

Degraded fabric in digital printing is telling the plot when Roro Jonggrang manipulated the morning to thwart the construction process and make the evil spirits run out. The architecture of the temple inspires a puffy silhouette of and pleats detail. The pleats detail also symbolize when Roro Jonggrang was condemned to be a statue by an evil prince.
